Welsh folk magic does not come down to us as one complete, unbroken system. What survives is scattered through folklore, written charms, household customs, accounts of cunning and knowledgeable people, holy wells, healing traditions, seasonal practices, stories, and the landscapes in which they developed.

This collection brings together guides for readers who want to explore those traditions with curiosity and historical care.

Each guide distinguishes, as clearly as the surviving evidence allows, between documented Welsh tradition, later interpretation, and the contemporary practices I offer for reflection today. Welsh words, customs, stories, and places are given context rather than treated as decoration, while uncertainty is left intact where the historical record cannot provide a simple answer.

These guides are not attempts to reconstruct a lost Welsh religion or present modern spiritual practice as ancient fact. They are places to begin reading, noticing, questioning, and developing a more thoughtful relationship with Welsh folklore and folk practice.

There is always more to learn. The path begins by listening carefully to what has actually survived.
