I will then contact you personally by email to gather whatever information is needed before I begin. Your completed rite, reading, photographs and written materials will follow digitally within the stated preparation period.

There are names we are given before we ever choose them. 

Some are literal. Others arrive as roles, expectations, descriptions or judgements: the reliable one, the difficult one, the clever one, the disappointing one, the caretaker, the outsider, the person who should know better, the person who should stay the same.

Some of those names fit for a time.

Some never did.

Mirror of Arianrhod is a personalised Welsh rite for examining the identities you have been given, inherited, accepted or resisted, and deciding which of them still have authority in your life.

It is not a rite for discovering one hidden “true self” beneath everything else.

It is for choosing more deliberately what you are willing to answer to now.

Mirror of Arianrhod may suit you if you:

• feel trapped inside an old role or description of yourself;
• have been carrying a label that no longer fits;
• are trying to separate your own sense of identity from family, social or relational expectations;
• have changed significantly and want to decide what still belongs;

Arianrhod, Naming and Authority

The Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi gives us one of the most striking Welsh stories about naming and who has the power to confer identity.

Arianrhod is tested before Math and unexpectedly gives birth. Later, she refuses to give her son a name.

Gwydion intervenes through disguise and deception. Arianrhod eventually speaks the words by which the boy becomes known as Lleu Llaw Gyffes.

The episode is difficult, layered and not reducible to a simple moral.

What matters for this rite is the tension around naming itself.

A name can recognise. A name can withhold. A name can define. A name can also become a site of struggle over who has the right to determine what someone is called and what that calling means.

Mirror of Arianrhod works with that tension.

Not every name given to us deserves to remain. Not every identity denied to us needs someone else’s permission before we claim it.

The Working

I prepare each Mirror of Arianrhod rite around the names, roles or descriptions that matter most to your situation.

For one person, that may be a family role they have carried for years. For another, it may be a professional identity, a relationship role, a description inherited from childhood, or an older version of self that continues to shape how they are seen.

Sometimes the work centres on something imposed, sometimes on something withheld, and sometimes on an identity that once fit but no longer does.

The rite is shaped around three questions: 

What have you been called? What still belongs to you? What are you ready to answer to now?

Arianrhod is honoured within the rite through the naming tension carried in her story.

The purpose is not to erase history or pretend that other people’s words have had no effect. It is to examine the authority those words still hold.

The Deluxe Rite is intended for more complex identity work involving several overlapping roles, long-standing labels, or a deeper process of redefining how you understand yourself.

Deluxe includes everything in Standard, plus:

• an extended private consultation;
• a separate preliminary clearing rite for inherited or imposed descriptions that no longer serve;
• an expanded personalised main working;
• a more detailed written account;
• an expanded Companion Guide;
• deeper reflection around naming, permission, identity, social expectation and the difference between recognition and definition;
• a personalised writing practice for examining the names you have carried and the ones you choose to keep;
• one follow-up message after you have had time to sit with the work.

The Names We Carry

Some names become habits.

We answer to them before we have decided whether they still fit.

Sometimes they were given with love. Sometimes carelessly, and sometimes unfairly. Sometimes they helped us survive a particular period of life and then remained long after that period ended.

Mirror of Arianrhod does not ask you to deny any of that.

It asks what authority those names should have now.

There is a difference between remembering what you have been called and allowing those words to continue defining the limits of who you may become.

The rite begins in that difference.

Before You Order

Mirror of Arianrhod is a personalised digital spiritual service for adults aged 18 and over. No physical item will be shipped.

After ordering, I will contact you using the email address provided at checkout. You can tell me about the names, roles or identities at the centre of the work and anything you feel is important for me to understand before I prepare the rite.

Once I have the information needed to begin, please allow 1–3 weeks for preparation and completion. Your photographs and written materials will then be delivered digitally.

The rite is offered for spiritual practice and reflection. It does not replace medical, psychological, legal or other appropriate professional support where that is needed.
