You do not need to arrive with a perfectly defined intention. You may simply know that something has been difficult for a while and that you want the next period of your life to feel steadier, kinder or more fortunate than the one behind you.

Your completed rite, photographs and written materials will be delivered digitally within the stated preparation period.

When renewal does not need to become reinvention

The Welsh adder stone

Welsh folklore preserves a particularly striking charm known as the glain nadredd, commonly translated as an adder stone or snake stone.

Museum Wales records these objects among the best-known stone charms of Wales. One old belief held that snakes gathered together and produced the stone between them. A person fortunate enough to find one might treasure it as a lucky possession. Such objects were also used in folk healing, particularly for complaints affecting the eyes. Surviving examples include ring-shaped glass beads that later generations understood through this folklore. 

I do not use that history to make medical claims for the rite.

What interests me here is the relationship between object, care and hoped-for restoration.

The glain nadredd was something held onto.

Something valued, something people turned towards when they hoped circumstances might improve.

That makes it a particularly fitting centre for a contemporary rite concerned with renewal that is quiet, practical and rooted in continuity rather than dramatic rebirth.

I prepare each Glain Nadredd rite individually around the kind of renewal you are seeking.
