You may be approaching Lleu simply because his story has stayed with you. You may instead be coming through a period of disruption, changed identity, shaken confidence, or the experience of finding your footing again after something that once felt established has altered.

Once I have the information needed to begin, I will prepare the initiation within the stated processing period. Your photographs and written materials will then be delivered digitally.

Where Lleu Stands

There are times when becoming yourself has very little to do with beginning from nothing.

A life may already have taken shape around you, with skills, responsibilities, relationships and a sense of where you stand. Then something happens that changes the arrangement.

Where Lleu Stands is a personalised Welsh initiation for those who want to begin, renew or deepen a spiritual relationship with Lleu, shaped around the wider movement of his story: identity established under difficult conditions, a life profoundly interrupted, and the possibility of standing again without pretending nothing has changed.

It is not a rite for returning perfectly to who you were before.

It asks what remains yours, what has altered, and from what ground you now continue.

This Initiation May Suit You If

You may be drawn to this initiation because Lleu himself has become important within your spiritual practice and you want to begin, renew or deepen that relationship deliberately.

For others, the circumstances come first.

You may have spent a long time building a sense of identity or capability and then experienced something that unsettled it. A role may have ended, confidence may have been shaken, a relationship or responsibility may have changed, or the life you expected to continue may no longer exist in quite the same form.

You may also be exploring the relationship between strength and vulnerability.

Lleu's story leaves room for both.

He can be capable without being invulnerable. He can be changed by what happens to him without becoming reducible to it. He can return without simply becoming the person he was before.

This initiation is not primarily about public recognition or reputation. Those questions belong more directly to Crown of the Rising Star.

Its concern is continuity.

What remains recognisably yours when life has altered around you?

Lleu Llaw Gyffes

Lleu appears in the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi, within a story where identity, ability and the decisions of other people repeatedly meet.

Arianrhod refuses him a name and later places conditions upon his receiving arms. Gwydion repeatedly intervenes until those restrictions are overcome, and Lleu eventually comes into a recognised place within the story.

But his story does not stop with becoming established.

Blodeuwedd is created by Math and Gwydion to become his wife. Later she and Gronw Pebr conspire against him, and the life that has taken shape around Lleu is violently interrupted. He is transformed and lost from ordinary human life before Gwydion eventually finds and restores him.

That longer movement gives this initiation its shape.

Lleu is not only the boy who receives a name.

He is also someone who has already become someone, loses the form in which that life was being lived, and returns.

Where Lleu Stands approaches that return without turning Lleu into a simple symbol of recovery. The story remains more complicated than that.

Sometimes standing again means recovering something that was lost.

Sometimes it means recognising that the ground itself has changed.

The Working

I prepare every Where Lleu Stands initiation individually.

Before beginning, I will ask what has drawn you towards Lleu and what you hope the initiation will mark.

The work is shaped around three movements:

What Was Established
We begin with what had already taken shape: qualities, skills, responsibilities, relationships or ways of understanding yourself that had become part of your ordinary ground.

What Was Interrupted
The middle of the initiation acknowledges what changed. Something may have been lost, shaken, altered or made inaccessible. The purpose is not to rehearse every painful detail, but to recognise that continuity was interrupted.

Where You Stand Now
The final movement returns to the present. What remains? What has changed enough that it cannot simply be resumed? What strength has returned differently? What now belongs to the life you are actually living?

Lleu is honoured and invited throughout the initiation as the figure at the centre of the relationship being approached.

The aim is not to ask him to restore your circumstances on your behalf.

It is to begin or deepen a relationship with a figure whose story understands that strength and vulnerability can occupy the same life.

Where Lleu Stands is a personalised digital spiritual initiation for adults aged 18 and over. No physical item will be shipped.

Please allow 1–3 weeks once I have the information needed to begin. Your photographs and written materials will be delivered digitally after completion.

The initiation is offered for spiritual practice, reflection and personal development. It does not promise that disrupted circumstances will be restored or that life will become what it was before.

Beginning a relationship with Lleu also creates no permanent obligation to continue it.
