The Ground That Holds

What happens after you order

You will receive Your Rite Begins Here immediately after purchase, a short digital welcome guide explaining what happens next and how your personalised work is prepared.

I will then contact you personally by email to understand what is changing around you, what currently feels least stable, and what you most need to remain able to carry while circumstances continue to unfold.

Your completed rite, photographs and written materials will follow digitally within the stated preparation period.

When the storm is still happening

Some rites belong after an ending.

This one belongs before that.

The Ground That Holds is for periods when circumstances are still moving: plans changing, structures shifting, relationships becoming uncertain, responsibilities multiplying, or several parts of life becoming unstable at once.

You may not yet know what the final shape of things will be. You may not have reached the point where rebuilding makes sense. What you need first is steadiness enough to remain present while the situation changes around you.

This rite does not ask you to pretend that upheaval is secretly a gift.

It is about keeping your footing while the ground is difficult.

This rite may suit you if

You may be drawn to this work if:

  • several parts of life are changing at once;
  • work, home, family or relationship circumstances feel unstable;
  • decisions are being made around you that you cannot fully control;
  • you are carrying responsibilities while also trying to adapt;
  • uncertainty has begun to make ordinary tasks feel harder;
  • you need to remain functional without pretending to be unaffected;
  • you are not yet ready to rebuild because the change itself has not finished.

The rite can centre on one major disruption or on a broader period in which life simply feels less secure than it usually does.

The Working

Before I prepare the rite, we begin by separating what is changing from what still belongs to you.

The work centres on three movements.

What is moving

We acknowledge the circumstances that are unstable, unfinished or outside your control.

The purpose is not to minimise them or force certainty where none exists.

What remains yours

Attention then turns to what can still be relied upon: your choices, responsibilities, values, routines, relationships, practical commitments, or the parts of yourself that remain recognisable even while circumstances shift.

What must keep working

Finally, the rite focuses on what needs enough steadiness to continue.

That may be sleep, work, parenting, decision-making, communication, creative practice, caring responsibilities, or simply the ability to meet one day without being consumed by the whole uncertain future at once.

Welsh landscape and weather may inform the ritual language where they suit the work: stone beneath rain, paths after storms, shelter, exposed ground, and the difference between something being shaken and something being lost.

Standard — The Ground That Holds

The Standard Rite is best suited when one principal area of upheaval is at the centre of your circumstances.

It includes:

  • personal consultation by email;
  • a complete personalised Welsh rite;
  • work centred on stability, grounding and remaining functional through change;
  • photographs of the completed working;
  • a written account of the rite and its symbolism;
  • a personalised continuing practice for returning to steadiness while the situation remains unsettled.

Deluxe — The Long Weather

The Deluxe Rite is intended for prolonged or layered upheaval, particularly when several areas of life are shifting at once.

It includes everything in Standard, plus:

  • an extended personal consultation;
  • a separate preparatory grounding and cleansing rite;
  • expanded personalised ritual work;
  • a more detailed written account;
  • a personalised Companion Guide exploring what is changing, what remains reliable and what needs protecting from unnecessary strain;
  • tailored practices for uncertainty, reduced capacity, disrupted routines and returning to practical footing;
  • one follow-up exchange after you have had time to work with the material.

Choose Deluxe when the difficulty is not one event, but a season of instability that has not yet finished moving through your life.

Strength does not require stillness

Remaining steady does not mean remaining unchanged.

You may need to adapt quickly. You may need to ask for help. Plans may need revising. Something you thought was permanent may not remain so.

Steadiness is not refusing to move.

It is knowing what you are moving from.

The Ground That Holds is for finding enough footing to meet what is happening now without demanding that you already know what comes after it.
