Memory of Taliesin

A life can contain many versions of us.

There are selves shaped by places we no longer live, work we no longer do, people we once loved, responsibilities we carried, choices we would make differently now, and experiences that altered the way we understand the world. Sometimes the distance between those versions becomes so great that it is difficult to know what still belongs to us.

Memory of Taliesin is a personalised Welsh rite for gathering those threads.

It is not a working for improving recall or sharpening concentration. Its concern is deeper: the continuity of self through change, and the question of what remains recognisably yours after you have lived through many different forms of your own life.

Taliesin and the Memory of Many Forms

Taliesin occupies an unusual place in Welsh tradition.

The figure associated with the historical poet becomes, across later Welsh literary tradition, something far larger: a speaker of extraordinary knowledge, transformation and remembered existence.

In poems attributed to the Taliesin tradition, the voice repeatedly declares what it has been. The speaker remembers different forms, different places, different conditions of being. Identity is presented not as a single fixed shape, but as something capable of passing through change while retaining the ability to speak from across it.

The later tale of Gwion Bach and Ceridwen adds another strand. Gwion passes through a sequence of transformations before eventually becoming Taliesin, carrying knowledge from one state into another.

Memory of Taliesin takes its shape from this quality of remembered continuity.

The question is not simply, “Who was I?”

It is: “What has travelled with me?”

The Working

I prepare each Memory of Taliesin rite around the different chapters, roles or versions of yourself that feel important to the work.

You may already know what you want to explore. Perhaps there is an earlier part of yourself you miss. Perhaps you have undergone several major changes in a relatively short period and no longer feel entirely connected to the person who began them. Or perhaps nothing is obviously wrong, but your life has become large enough that you want to understand its continuity more deliberately.

The rite does not ask you to choose one version of yourself as the “real” one.

Instead, it creates space to notice what has persisted: particular values, instincts, desires, ways of seeing, recurring questions, strengths, wounds, joys or forms of expression that have appeared differently as your circumstances changed.

Taliesin is honoured within the working as the figure whose tradition gives this exploration its form: the voice able to say what it has been without being confined to only one shape.

The Standard Rite is complete in itself.

Memory of Taliesin — Deluxe Rite: The Many Forms

The Deluxe Rite is intended for more complex work involving several distinct life chapters, major changes in identity, or a longer history that needs space to be considered as a whole.

Deluxe includes everything in Standard, plus:

• an extended private consultation;
• a separate preliminary rite for setting down identities, expectations or descriptions of yourself that no longer belong;
• an expanded personalised main working;
• a more detailed written account;
• an expanded Companion Guide;
• deeper reflection around recurring themes, forgotten strengths, inherited roles and the difference between continuity and sameness;
• a personalised writing practice for gathering your own “remembered forms” without forcing them into a single narrative;
• one follow-up message after you have had time to sit with the work.

Choose Deluxe when the question is not about one transition, but about understanding the person who has moved through many of them.

What Remains

There is a temptation, after enough change, to divide our lives too sharply.

Memory of Taliesin is a personalised digital spiritual service for adults aged 18 and over. No physical item will be shipped.

After ordering, I will contact you using the email address provided at checkout. You can tell me about the periods, identities or changes you want the rite to explore, and anything you feel is important for me to understand before I prepare the work.

Once I have the information needed to begin, please allow 1–3 weeks for preparation and completion. Your photographs and written materials will then be delivered digitally.

The rite is offered for spiritual practice and reflection. It does not replace medical, psychological, legal or other appropriate professional support where that is needed.
