Brân the Blessed | Welsh Rites for Protection & Responsibility

Brân the Blessed — Bendigeidfran fab Llŷr in the Mabinogi — is a figure of extraordinary scale, both literally and within Welsh story. King, brother, warrior, and finally the companion carried home by those who survive him, his story moves through loyalty, conflict, devastating loss, remembrance, and the difficult road that follows.

This collection gathers rites, guides, and other work inspired by Brân and the traditions surrounding him. Some may explore grief and what we carry beyond an ending; others may turn towards protection, responsibility, kinship, sovereignty, or the complicated consequences of acting on behalf of those we love.

The practices offered here are contemporary rather than reconstructed historical rites. Where the Mabinogi or later Welsh tradition provides the foundation, I distinguish that source material from the reflection and ritual practice I have developed from it.

Brân's stories do not offer easy answers. They leave us instead with questions about what we owe one another, what our choices set in motion, and what remains ours to carry when the consequences have already unfolded.
